Assistant will work closely with the VP of HR and gain hands-on experience in many aspects of HR including recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and HR operations. This role is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and interested in building a long-term career in Human Resources.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment Support: Posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews.
- Onboarding & Offboarding: Coordinating new hire orientation, preparing paperwork, and conducting exit interviews, and conducting background checks
- Records Maintenance: Assist in updating employee files, processing employment changes and track and manage employee attendance, leave, and PTO.
- Payroll & Benefits Support: Assist with payroll processing and communicating benefits information to employees. (health, vision, dental, and 401(k)).
- Administrative Tasks: Prepare HR documents, correspondence and reports. Handle HR-related phone calls and emails, sort and distribute mail, assisting updating HR records, policies, and procedures
- Support Employee Training and Engagement: Assist with coordinating employee training sessions and maintaining training records. Help organize employee engagement activities, events, and internal communication.
Skills and Qualifications
- 1–3 years of Human Resources experience required (law firm or professional services environment a plus).
- Some knowledge of HR best practices and compliance requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Highly detailed-oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with HRIS and payroll software is a plus (ADP).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to always maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee data.
- Team-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn.
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 hourly
